Orthodox Syrian Sundary School Association of the East (OSSAE)

Orthodox Syrian Sundary School Association of the East (OSSAE) is a spiritual organization functioning in all the parishes of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church which takes care of the spiritual nurturing of children, by bringing them up in the knowledge and fellowship of Jesus Christ and His Church.

In SMIOC Oxford, the Sunday School helps our kids in our church to learn and grow more about Jesus Christ and His Church. The kids are imparted with the general theology behind our church and worships.

Regular Classes

Classes based on syllabus and curriculum

We have students from Year 1 to Year 10 in our church, and we conduct classes on every First Sunday and Third Saturday after our Holy Qurbana. During this time, we impart knowledge based on the Syllabus and Curriculum set by the OSSAE team. The Sunday school class follows an academic style within the church.

Common Classes

Classes for everyone based on common topic

Another initiative we take for our sunday school children is to impart knowledge on common areas of interest like church history, worship-related queries, etc. We use this forum to develop the kids self-confidence, resilience, and creativity. This session includes class room sessions , games, music, debates, group discussions, etc.

OVBS

Orthodox Vacation Bible School

The OVBS is a yearly bible study session for 2-3 days to impart knowledge based on a theme from the Holy Bible. During these days, children learn music, games, stories, activities, etc., which helps to refresh them with some vacation fun in a spiritual setting.
